OK, I'll check it out and see what I can come up with. As an Admin, I do get emails from every post on every topic (so I know the email thing is working), but I've never actually tested the 'subscription' feature (because I get them from EVERY post already).
I'll set up a test account and see if I can figure out what's going on...thanks for the heads' up!

I got the 'subscription' to stick to the user profile, but it's still not sending emails correctly.
I got called out to a client site and had to stop working on it the other day. I'll pick it back up in the next day or two..work calls...

OK, better late than never, but I've set up a special 'mail list' campaign to be used for the forum. Whenever a post is made, it will email all members that have previously signed up.
This will go into a testing phase and I'll make adjustments as necessary. I DID get a feature working called 'pretty permalinks' which changes the URL to a friendly name instead of just a post ID#. It looks a lot cleaner and it will index better with search engines.
We'll see how it goes...and this is my first test of the new mailing list feature...

(the text below was copied from the email which was sent out--note that you no longer have to 'subscribe' to a topic in order to get notified--you'll now get notified for EVERY topic, including new ones!)
By signing up on the WWF forum website (http://forum.WWFirebirds.com) you have agreed to receive notifications for new forum posts. You may opt out of these notifications by letting us know your preference, but in order to support the club and encourage use of the forum, the club would really appreciate your participation. As the number of posts grows and notifications become bothersome, we will adjust the notification preferences for users of the forum. In the meantime, POST AWAY!!!
From now on, each time there is a post on the forum, you will receive a 'new post' notification that shows you the post's topic. Chime in on it if you can! In order to receive these notifications properly, please go into your SPAM filter and white-list the webmaster email address (webmaster@wwfirebirds.com). That email address will be used for all forum notifications and white-listing the webmaster address will ensure that you are notified properly.
We have also created a special 'member's only' email list which will be used for newsletters and internal club-related communications. More to come on that later, as it will be brought up at the next quarterly club meeting. If you are receiving this message and you are NOT a member of the club, please join the club so that you can be included on our newsletter mailing list and be invited to designated 'club-only' events. It's a great way to get your Firebird out of the garage and make some awesome like-minded friends in Western Washington.
We welcome any feedback you might have about this setup. Thank you for your continued support as we try and grow the club...
