For those that missed the mystery cruise. You missed a great one!!! We started out at our place at 10:30 and left at 11:00 AM for our first destination. We took a very scenic route that took us into the back of Monroe. We then headed east on Hwy 9 to Startup WA. After driving to the top of a mountain was our first stop of our mystery cruise. One of the best Street rod builders in the world!!!!! Tim Divers home of Divers Street Rods. All I can say and as all parties that showed up is WOW!!!!!!! Its the perfect setting atop of a mountain with clearings that have rustic looking buildings and state of the art custom car building inside. This is not a place that the public is invited to. Most people can only dream of having the talents of Tim and crew touch our cars.
Divers Street rods build Million dollar customs!!!! The work that they do , you will not see any other shop perform. These people are the elite as are their customers!!! Tim welcomed us with open arms and gave us lucky few a personal show and tell of all the projects that they are working on and have finished. Pictures will come later.
Anyway, its really too bad that so many missed this and the ones that experienced this personal tour were the very lucky few. Tim and Crew actually built the Ridler award winning car in 2008 with Ferrambo which cost 1.3 Million to build. Just the display around the car when it was shown was over $100,000 to build. One of his Current builds is a 1957 Cadillac town Brougham which just to buy this car before work was $125,000. Not one part on the car is spared the custom touches of Tim and his crew. The power plant will be a highly polished Duramax twin turbo Diesel that will put out over 1000 ft lbs of torque!!!!!! They will have put over 3 years of work on it when completed.
So after spending 90 minutes with Divers Streetrods was heading up to Arlington into a gated community that have their own private runway. Yes a full airfield as most all the houses have at least one airplane hanger. The gated community is very quiet and very wooded. The destination was at a friends house that is into Buick's and old memorabilia. Dean Eldridge was kind enough to give us an upfront personal tour into his life and his toys. Again , I just heard "WOW" from all the members that came. Dean has a 1957 Buick Roadmaster convertible. One of 12 that is so incredibly detailed and has a few custom features that he added for modern conveniences. His other pride is a 1953 Buick Roadmaster convertible that was customized by the factory that was altered by sectioning 3" out of the doors and rear quarters and many other cool mods done by factory workers. There were so many things to see including a Ford Ute from Australia and 9 other cars, a chuck wagon, a 1959 Airstream, a Buick Woody and many other colectibles that words cannot describe them. Dean's and Tim's places are incredible and without them being car guys and friends, none of this day would have happened. Anyway, to all those that came, glad you had a great time, and for those that didn't, sorry you missed it!!!.
