    Hi,

I'm new to this forum and WA state having moved here recently from CA. I just picked up a 2000 TA WS6 today and was wondering if any of you could recommend a good, local shop for repairs and maintenance? I live in the Bothell/Mill Creek area.

Thank you very much and I hope to meet you soon at club events!

Welcome David! Congrats on the purchase there are a few of us 4th gen guys around here. I would love to see some pics or better yet see you at some events. I just wanted to take a moment to welcome you Unfortunately I have no input on what shops to use especially up in that area as I am a south-ender. There are plenty of members up your way though that I am sure can give you some ideas. See you around!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm hoping to hook up with the club at a future event and meet some folks and see some Firebirds. Here is a picture of "Big Bird" with my daughter the day we picked him up.

    Take care.

Hey David, welcome again to the forum! What types of repairs and maintenance are you looking to do exactly? We've had ideas in the club about doing 'tech sessions' as a group if the issues you want to address are relatively minor. If you're looking for more major work to be done, then it will help to know exactly what you're trying to get accomplished.

On a newer car, of course, you have lots of electronics to help you do diagnose certain types of problems (or create problems themselves!). You can read codes by borrowing a code reader from any O'Reilly or I've got one that I can bring to any type of event to use as well.

Club and forum members have lots of different backgrounds, and it doesn't hurt to ask the group about specific issues. Of course joining the club is a great way to network as well.

Nice car by the way, and welcome to the forum! Let us know if you have specific technical issues that you need addressed and we'll help however we can...

I had just bought the car when I posted so I was looking to baseline the normal maintenance like flushing the cooling system, oil change, tranny oil change. I also needed the pinion seal on the rear axle done as it was seeping. I got all that done at Evergreen Autoworks which is close by my house. I'm happy with them so I'll probably keep going there for that type of stuff.

I managed to rebuild one of the headlight motors myself and I replaced some noisy pulleys and a bad belt.

Next on the list is new shocks and struts. Also, I'm experiencing notchy shifting and, at times, some grinding in 4th. The clutch seems to engage pretty quickly just off the floor and I was thinking it may be going south on me. For this job, I was thinking of taking it to Speed Secrets in Snohomish to have them check it out.

Welcome David! Love your car! Had a '99 T/A non WS6 car , but it was the same color as yours. I loved that car! Can't wait to yours for real.
