Anyone needing a th350 that was behind a 455 that had two spun bearings can have it cheap. Its complete with torque converter. The guy pulled the engine and trans because of the rod knock so I think it will be a good transmission. The engine was a 1971 so I would assume this would be the year for the transmision. I also heard that the TH350s behind the 455s had better internals. $50

Speaking of TH350s. The article on History of the Firebirds for 1968 has some data that is wrong. It says that the RAII came with a 4 sp or a 3 speed auto, TH350. Sorry but that would be the TH400 as the TH350 was never installed in a Firebird till 1969. Somebody might want to change this on our site.

Hmmmmm It also says that in 1967 article and says that the TH350 was used behind the 400s.
Also it says Powerglide was used behind 350 cid engines in 1969 ? All 350s got a th350 in 1969.
Where did these articles come from?Posted 1 year ago # -
Upon review of what I can find 69 still had 2 speed trans on the 350s if you wanted to order it, or order the turbo 350 or order the turbo 400. You had a choice.

So it looks like 1969 could get a 2 sp which was different than the PG. Pontiac used a ST 300 and as usual were stronger than the PG 2 speeds from what all my Transmission guys had told me in the past. Sort of going backwards to order a two speed when the TH350 would give better performance. I guess thats why I have never seen a 2 sp behind a 1969 350 in the 31 years of breathing Firebirds.
